MILCZENIE... WIELKIEJ SOBOTY / The silence... of Great Saturday

I watched the movie of Martin Scorsese  "Silence" ... and ... it's true that life is not easy, the matter of faith is not black and white ... because some people think so but "appearances are deceptive" ...
On the other hand, we must be aware that - when God is silent and we very much want to hear Him - do not confuse own (only) desires (even seems good) with His voice ...
Great Saturday is a silent time. In order to persevere in hope it is best to stay in this silent with Our Lady - we alone can not persevere when God is silent ...
We started this day with Mary through the Rosary with Sorrowful Mysteries. And it was supposed to be only a rosary, but after prayer, people started asking questions about faith, so we talked with missionary Gabriel to them about some things.

A później był film o św. Siostrze Faustynie.

And later was the movie about St. Sister Faustina.
At 15.00 Second novena before the Feast of Mercy.
And we prepared the Liturgy of the Sabbath - the decoration in the chapel (Risen Lord Jesus in the image of Divine Mercy) and Gabriel sang Pascal Exultet.
At 8:00 pm the celebration began - we had holy water, so we could sprinkle fire, prepare the Paschal candle and procession with the candles. We were accompanied by 12 men - the symbol of the Apostles - and they at the second sining of the "Light of Christ" received the light and a third pasing fire of a person.
There was a Liturgy of the Word of God with all the 8 readings, and renewal of baptismal promises, Holy Communion.
At the time of the proclamation, the missionary Gabriel encouraged people not to forget that the most important day is Sunday the Resurrection (it often happens that Good Friday is important to them and they are celebrated but not on Sunday).

W Niedzielę Zmartwychwstania przyjechał o. Tymon odprawić Mszę św. i zabrać nas do domu.

On the Sunday of Resurrection, Fr. Tymon came to celebrate Holy Eucharist and took us home.
At Mass. At Mass. There were not only people from Nuevo Paraiso but also some from Yayu, Selva Alegre y Heroes del Condor.
We asked them to dress up for this holiday in their best clothes. I dressed up in the traditional dress I have from Poland :-).
From that time on I was very good memories, gratitude to the lay missionary  - doctor Gabriel  - and so many people who helped us and gave us food. And with difficult things - just a terrible rash - maybe allergy to bats ?:-). Thanks to be God - I hope we could be instruments in His hand.
Thank you to all those who supported us in this time with your prayers!

WIELKI PIĄTEK / Good Friday

We began the day with the Way of the Cross - Missionary Gabriel asked beforehand to prepare for every person his own crosses and to go in silence, without singing, reading only at the Stations. The every stations was prepared by the inhabitants. We finished with the 14th Stations of the Cross on the cemetery.
Good Friday in Ecuador is a day off work - in Poland we still have to work in that day. But Monday after Easter is free in Poland but here is not.

O 15.00 mieliśmy celebracje Męki i śmierci Pana Jezusa, adorację krzyża, Liturgię Słowa, Komunię św. i przeniesienie Pana Jezusa do Grobu. Następnie rozpoczęliśmy pierwszy dzień nowenny do Miłosierdzia Bożego.

Later they came from the neighboring village Selva Alegre (Joyful Forest) to take the missionary Gabriel to lead the Way of the Cross at 12.30 and I stay because  it was necessary to prepare "the Tomb of the Lord" in the room that serves as the sacristy. The people from the village brought me the branches with the red flowers I asked - "platanillo" - and also one palm tree. We did as it is in the Gospel - the Tomb of Jesus in the garden.
At 3.00 pm we had Celebrations of Passion and Death of Jesus, adoration of the Cross, Liturgy of the Word, Holy Communion and the transfer of Jesus to the Tomb. Then we began the first day of the novena to Divine Mercy.

O 17.00 było popularne tu nabożeństwo "Ostatnie siedem słów Jezusa". Misjonarz Gabriel poprosił by zrobili inscenizację - bardzo szybko wymyślili sobie stroje.

At 5 pm, was the devotion "The Last Seven Words of Jesus" which is popular here. Missionary Gabriel asked them to do the staging - they quickly came up with own made costumes. We listened steadily to Jesus' statements (the person who played Jesus) and then sat there were meditating - as in the Way of the Cross alternately we read Gabriel and myself.

At 19.00 we showed the movie "Passion of Crist" by Mel Gibson. Every place in the church was occupied - never before and after were so many people.
And then adoration, but unfortunately this time I was alone with Jesus - people did not come. But I understand a little...There is no such a custom as in Poland that all families come "to visit the Lord Jesus". And there was many things, and almost all new for them and it was a lot because never before there were celebrations there.

WIELKI TYDZIEN W RAJU / Holy Week en Paradise

Do raju - i to nowego :-), pojechałam w Wielką Środę z błogosławieństwem Ojca Proboszcza. Odwiózł mnie o. Tymon, z kilkoma pudłami potrzebnych do celebracji rzeczy. Przywieźliśmy też Pana Jezusa Eucharystycznego w tabernakulum i jeszcze przed odjazdem Ojciec poświęcił wodę.
Jeden z Ojców sprawował celebracje w Guayzimi, drugi w Zurmi a ja poprosiłam o możliwość wyjazdu do wspólnoty oddalonej o 2 godziny drogi stąd - Nuevo Paraiso (co znaczy "Nowy Raj").
Przygotowaliśmy książeczki dla katechistów i w niektórych wioskach to katechiści (prosiliśmy by byli to mężczyźni) prowadzili celebracje.
Zostały rozdzielone zadania a jeszcze o 21.40 przyszli jeszcze raz by oglądnąć film jaki przywiozłam o patronie kaplicy - Świętym Marcinie Porres.

To paradise - to this new one :-), I went to Holy Wednesday with the blessing of Parish Father Severino. Father Tymon took me there with a few boxes of things I needed for celebrations. We also brought the Lord Jesus in the Eucharist in the tabernacle and before the departure the Father blessed the water.
One of the Fathers held a celebration in Guayzimi, the other in Zurmi, and I asked to leave for a community which is 2 hours away from here - Nuevo Paraiso (what means "New Paradise" :-)).
In Poland we have so many priests that in Holy Week one father can celebrate and the others can just accompany. Here there are no priests and, in most places, some elements of the celebration and the Liturgy of the Word of God is leaded by lay persons. We have prepared books  and in some villages the catechists (we were asking there were only men for Holy Week) have been conducting celebrations. To the ministry in Nuevo Paraiso we asked a doctor from Guayzimi - Gabriel, who was misionary in Venezuela and lives close to God, so instead of going to the family to Loja, he dedicate this time to being a missionary for Holy Week and was serving for people who  couldn't have a priest at their disposal. It was supposed to arrive on Holy Thursday - and so it happened, though many difficulties were with recieve permissions from work and coming here (on some stretch the road was impassable for the bus, so he had to hire a motorcyclist).
The inhabitants of New Paradise had to come on Holy Wednesday at the meeting at 19:00 pm but they arrived at 20:00  - it's like this here with punctuality. They were recieved task for preparing for every day and at 21.40 they came again to watch the film I had brought about the patron of the chapel - Saint Martin Porres.
I had a computer with me and - thanks to the kindness of Fr. Lukasz Hołub, who lent me  it - a multimedia projector, because we haven't got in our parish.
And then I went to sleep in the room in teh chapel. There is no ceiling, you can see the roofs and there are holes near the roof, so moths, mosquitoes and bats flew over my head. The first night I was not able to sleep ... But what - the most important that I was in paradise and met little angels who helped me - children:-).

W Wielki Czwartek poprosiłam o pomoc by trochę dokładniej posprzątać kaplicę.

On Holy Thursday I asked for help in cleaning the chapel a little more thoroughly. The kids were happy to help ... although as I later learned, they had been thinking that I would pay ...But I didn't  - but they could later to draw because I had crayons and paper.

Mrs. Celia, a catechist who cared for the chapel, cared for us very much. It is not easy, because there was often no great interest about the faith among people, many things had to do alone. But for the Holy Week many people got engaged - it was beautiful to see.

I zrobiliśmy z p. Celią Ciemnicę (tu nazywają "Monumento").
Później mieliśmy adorację do 24.00.
Misjonarz Gabriel ma dar słowa i ludzie słuchali go z uwagą.

And we did with Mr. Celia "the Prison for Jesus" (here they call "Monumento"). Children went around the village asking for flowers to decorate. Together with the catechists, they also made a way out of the stones so that we could not walk on the mud. These kids helped me a lot!
In the evening took place the Liturgy of the Word, then the rite of washing foot washing of 12 men (we couldn't find 12 men adults so there were also very young Apostles as seen in the photo :-)), Holy Comunion and then there was the transfer of Jesus to the Proson. We later adored Him until 24.00.
The misionary Gabriel has the gift of word, so people listened him attentively.

TRIDUUM SACRUM

Wielki Tydzień - najważniejszy czas w roku dla nas wierzących.
Dużo pracy ale i dużo łaski nas czeka.
W Niedzielę Palmową rozpoczęliśmy poświeceniem palm i czytaniem Męki Pańskiej.
Na najbliższy tydzień - Święta naszego Zbawienia, życzę by był czasem pogłębienia relacji z Panem Jezusem, czasem szukania i odnajdywania Jego pragnień wobec naszego życia.
Pomódlcie się za nas!

REKOLEKCJE O MIŁOSIERDZIU BOŻYM / Retreat on God's Mercy

Mamy już w kościele parafialnym obrazy Apostołów Bożego Miłosierdzia. Poświęcenie 2 kwietnia 2017. O.Seweryn zaproponował bym przed Wielkim Tygodniem zrobiła rekolekcje jakie wcześniej poprowadziłam w Santo Domingo.
Proszę Was bardzo o modlitwę!

We already have two pictures of the Apostles of Divine Mercy in the parish church. The blessing of them will be in April 2, 2017. O.Seweryn suggested to me that before the Holy Week, I lead retreats that  - similary I led in Santo Domingo.
I ask you very much for prayer!
I'm just preparing some stuff for tomorrow, so just a few more pics.

A tu płyniemy w ulewnym deszczu do jednej z wiosek.
Here we are going to one village -  the rain was very strong.

They live very simple, poor, but for the I comunión they borrow the best things.

Mishasho - Coatí de Cola Anillada - maskotka jednej rodziny szukała w kwiatkach robaczków a na mojej szyi miejsca do spania.
Mishasho - Coatí de Cola Anillada - was looking for worm in the flores and place to sleep on my neck.

:-) Jasne?
A to mój ulubiony obraz Matki Bożej - Najpiękniejszy - Niepokalane Serce Maryi według Orędzia Fatimskiego.
Many times there is no electricity. But it doesn't mean that there is no light...:-)
There i my favorite image of Our LAdy - The most beautisful  - Immaculate Heart of Mary according the Message from Fatima.
W tym miejscu zabrała most.
When it's raining a lot, the power of water is increible. In this place broke the bridge.
Czekając na spowiedź w katedrze w Loja "spotkałam" znajomego Polaka :-)
Waiting for the sacrament of reconciliacion in catedral in Loja I "met" familiar Pole. :-)
